Do you ever feel a little bored, disconnected, or tired when general conference rolls around? This cool packet will help keep your interest while listening to the servants of the Lord. It’s free, colorful, and it helps you look for the important parts of conference. I had a similar packet last year, and I was able to not only stay awake through the whole thing, but truly listen to the words that were spoken, all while having fun. So don’t look at listening to talks for a couple of hours at a time discourage you from receiving the blessings of following the Lord’s will.
(This one is for the youth, but in related sections there are ones for nursery and junior/senior primary, too!)
“And they pitched their tents round about the temple, every man having his tent with the door thereof towards the temple, that thereby they might remain in their tents and and hear the words which king Benjamin should speak unto them.”—Mosiah 2:6
“…remember to search [the scriptures] diligently, that ye may profit thereby, and I would that ye should keep the commandments of God, that ye may prosper in the land according to the promises which the Lord made unto our fathers.”—Mosiah 1:7
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”—Matthew 5: 14-16
“And if it seem evil to unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: be as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”—Joshua 24:15
“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to they house? When thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.”—Isaiah 58:6-8
“For my soul delighteth in the song of the heart; yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me, and it shall be answered with a blessing upon their heads.
Wherefore, lift up they heart and rejoice, and cleave unto the covenants which thou hast made.”—D&C 25:12-13
I have been a fan of the internet for a long time, and in the For Strength of Youth pamphlet, it states, “The information and entertainment provided through these media can increase your ability to learn, communicate, and become a force for good in the world.” I’ve decided to make this blog to help strengthen my testimony, and anyone else who happens to stumble across this page. I hope to use this frequently, to be a good influence amongst the not-so-good, and to bring a little light into the lives of the faithful.
My personal Tumblr is filled with average teenage stuffs including Harry Potter, opinions about random things, and things I find funny or inspirational. You may like that as well.
I hope you get something out of this blog, hopefully something good, and I wish you a good day.
